Catalonia
is a small country of six million inhabitants but it has more than a thousand
years of history and a culture and language of its own which have forged a very
distinct character. It is an Autonomous Community within Spain and occupies an
area of 31,930 square kilometres.
Catalonia is
situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees and offers stunning
landscapes and a superb range of facilities to the visitor – We would like to
highlight some of them:
BARCELONA
– One of the most visited cities in Europe due to its culture, history, fashion,
conventions and large number of international exhibitions. Barcelona has also
grown to be the 2nd largest cruise port worldwide which also brings a
lot of new visitors to the city. Visitors are normally seduced by the
“personality” of the city and want to come back again. This is one of the
reasons for the locations of the CH holidays homes which are all situated in
beautiful settings outside Barcelona however the city can in most cases be
reached by car or train within 30-45 minutes.
BEACHES –
Long Mediterranean sand beaches and crystal clear water is also found in the
area north of Barcelona. Almost all the beaches are “Blue-flagged” guaranteeing
high quality conditions and services.
TRANQUILLITY
- Tourism can have a calm and peaceful side based on rest, relaxation and
leisure activities. Catalonia offers numerous opportunities for enjoying
experiences full of peace and pleasant sensations. You will find and enjoy the
tranquillity in our holiday homes mostly situated in Sant Andreu de Llavaneres,
Sant Vicenç de Montalt, Caldes d´Estrac, Sant Pol de Mar, Arenys de Mar and
Arenys de Munt. These charming villages invite you to discover one of the
richest areas of Catalonia and get to know its amicable people and the
outstanding landscapes and share its attractive cultural life.
CLIMATE –
The
region offers you a very attractive climate all year around with mild winters
where you can enjoy the sun and obtain plenty of the light and the energy needed
by our body and mind.
RESTAURANTS
– The following restaurants have all been granted MICHELIN stars and represent
the best of the Catalan and Spanish kitchen. You may consider visiting the
region only to try their exquisite dishes and wines: Sant Pau (Sant Pol de Mar),
Can Fabes (Sant Celoni), Hispania (Arenys de Mar) and L´Esguard (Sant Andreu de
Llavaneres). No other region in Spain offers an equivalent high concentration of
Michelin restaurants – so come and enjoy! Read more on the page

SPORT
ACTIVITIES
– You will
find everything from 18 holes
golf courses with views to the sea to nautical
sports offered in the different ports of the area or walking and BTT routes in
the mountain in the natural park of Montseny, one of natural jewels of Catalonia
and included in the world network of biosphere reserves by UNESCO in 1978 - Read

WELLNESS
– Total relax near the sea applying treatments based on high temperature
therapeutic waters that emerge from the Earth. In the different Spas you will be
able to enjoy the benefits of the water. Take care of your body and come to try

CULTURE
- Its
history and tradition make Catalonia one of the richest tourist destinations in
terms of cultural resources, with a rich, attractive monumental heritage
offering visitors endless opportunities to enjoy art from many different
periods.
NATURE
- Nature-lovers will discover not only a pleasant, temperate Mediterranean
climate, but also a wealth of landscapes and rich diversity in Catalonia. From
steep, rocky coasts to gently sloping sandy beaches, from inland plains and
wooded mountains to deep Pyrenean valleys and snow-capped peaks, the
opportunities to enjoy nature are endless here.
INFRASTRUCTURE
–
All the CH holiday homes are easily reachable due to the highly developed
infrastructures in and around Barcelona and Girona. You can arrive to the
airports of Barcelona, Girona and Reus. The motorways are excellent (A7/C32 and
the N-II) and there are several fast and reliable trains connecting the airports
and all major cities with the towns and villages situated along the coast and in
the inland of Catalonia. Should you arrive by sea a number of well equipped
ports are available such as the ports of Barcelona, Masnou, Mataró, Llavaneres
(Puerto Balís), Arenys de Mar and Blanes.
The rest of
CATALONIA
should not be forgotten – Although the large majority of our holiday homes are
located on the “Costa Barcelona” in the Maresme area, we also do have 1st
class properties situated in picturesque villages on the Costa Brava and in the
interior part of Catalonia, unknown to a lot of people who will doubtlessly be
delighted by its beauty.
We warmly
welcome you to CATALONIA – Enjoy your stay!
